Most Wanted Special – Big Opioid Arrest!

Suspect: Carroll Daniel Gibson IV (27) of Centreville, MD
Assisting Personnel: Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division, Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office
Synopsis: On May 21, 2017 the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to an unattended death in Stevensville, Maryland. Investigation revealed that Carson David Freedman and Anthony George Reno Jr., had died from a suspected heroin overdose. Members of the Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force responded to the scene to assist with scene processing and furthering the investigation and were able to identify a possible suspect as the person who may have distributed or facilitated the distribution of the heroin to the deceased.
With the assistance of the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office and through this investigation, Task Force members began an in-depth investigation and ultimately identified Carroll Daniel Gibson IV, A/A/M, DOB: 01/22/1990 as the primary suspect in the distribution of heroin that is suspected of causing Freedman and Reno’s overdose death.
On June 7, 2017, Gibson was charged through the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s office and an arrest warrant was issued for Gibson for the following: 2 counts of Involuntary Manslaughter, 2 counts of Reckless Endangerment, 1 count of Possession of Heroin with the Intent to distribute, 1 count of Possession of Fentanyl with the intent to distribute, 1 count of Possession of Heroin and 1 count of Possession of Fentanyl in Freedman and Reno’s deaths.
On June 9, 2017, Gibson was arrested in Queen Anne’s County without incident on the aforementioned charges. Gibson was subsequently transported to the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Gibson is currently being held in the Queen Anne’s County Detention Center on no bail.
