Mikaela Boley, University of Maryland Extension-Talbot County Horticulture Educator. Native plants are touted as having increased adaptability and provide many wildlife benefits to the landscape. While natural habitats present their own challenges, the cultivated landscape involves additional conditions like urban soils, inadequate water supply, excess water supply, road salt, and much more.
