University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, along with University of Maryland Medical System and Queen Anne’s County, celebrated the opening of UM Shore Regional Health’s new outpatient Surgery Center at Queenstown on Thursday, December 18.<br />The public ceremony and reception began at 3:30 p.m. at the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health Surgery Center at Queenstown.<br />UM Shore Regional Health President and CEO Ken Kozel hosted the event. Speakers included UMMS President and CEO Robert Chrencik and Queen Anne’s County Commissioner James Moran.<br />The $7 million Surgery Center at Queenstown will provide a range of outpatient surgery options for medical specialists and their patients in Queen Anne’s County and the surrounding region. Surgeons and physicians will perform procedures at the facility.<br />Patient services at the 11,000-square-foot Surgery Center comprise a range of specialties and procedures including orthopedic, gastroenterology, urology, pain management and general surgery.
